Nader with Jim Lehrer

10.16.2008

Ralph Nader was interviewd on the Jim Lehrer New Hour a couple nights ago. To read/watch/listen go here. I hope you are all watching as Obama & McCain fail to fix the root of our financial woas. I hope you are listening when Obama admits to working with corporations rather than with us little people. I hope you are listening when neither Obama nor McCain support solar energy (Obama supports "clean" coal...someone should tell him there's no such thing as "clean" coal). I also hope you know that there's no such thing as a "spoiler". If you want to throw your vote away vote for Obama or McCain. They'll keep us going in a bad direction for sure.

The Debates: McCain, Obama, & Nader

To Be or Not To Be: Watch it

9.16.2008

I doubt you'd see this kind of stuff from Obama or McCain...they take themselves way too seriously, yes? I've been very frustrated today that Nader is getting no coverage AT ALL on any major network. I'll never get over the fact that Nader can't debate with the other candidates. Democracy? Ya right.

Hip, Hip, HOORAY!!!!

Nader is officially on the ballots of 45 states!! He was on 43 ballots in 2000 and only 34 in 2004. People will now have more choices!!

Reading

9.04.2008

Ceej and I are reading this lovely and inspiring book together. Nader talks about how his parents and community did such a wonderful job of raising him and his siblings, but mostly it's about his parents. They taught him to love education and argument, to take care of his health, to respect elders, to learn how to think, to be an active citizen, etc. It is so so good. One thing I really like knowing about Nader's parents is that they came from a tradition than honored proverbs. When Nader and his siblings would misbehave, rather than shout "shut up!" or "stop it!", they would rattle off a proverb. These proverbs really stuck with the kids and made them think. Love it.

You can go to The Seventeen Traditions website and add your own traditions to the list. What a great idea!

Getting Political

7.22.2008

I'm asking you to endulge me this post. It's important to me, and a lot of other people. I like Ralph Nader...a lot. If you haven't heard, he's running for president. Now before you start making all the assumptions that you might when you hear the name "Ralph Nader", give him another chance. I'm not asking you to agree with me. I'm asking you to take some time to get to know him, then make your own decision. You can visit his website to find out what Nader will do for us.

IF YOU LIVE IN SALT LAKE CITY you have the chance to ask Nader your questions personally via phone. There is a House Party for Nader Saturday July 26th in the Harvard/Yale neighborhood from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. If you want the exact address email me and I'll give it to you. Then there is a rally at Libby Gardner Hall at the University of Utah July 31st where Nader will be there in person, and you can get a better feel for him as a person.

Thank you for the indulgence. I ask that you simply be informed. Loves to you all!
