this heart needs women and a good meal outside

10.24.2011

so i've told you how hard it is to stay indoors these days
with such incredible color and cool air in the mountains,
and i've told you how much i love sharing words with women,
and how very much i love a good meal in the form of a picnic...

so it won't be hard to imagine how dearly i loved this afternoon
spent with marte & mercedes, powerhouse women with beating hearts.
there was cheese, cous-cous, squash, crisp apples, smores that made us sick,
a cookbook to satisfy our eyes, and a brainstorming session
that ordinary dreams are made of...i am scheming on how to
convince these women that picnics in the mountains with me
should happen daily. is that too much to ask?

{see marte's pretty photos & words describing our outing here}

I agree with you that these autumn days are needed to be spent outdoors! It is like a season of outdoor celebration. Beautiful post, as always.

This is one of the most adorably delightful picnics I have ever seen. And I desperately want to go on a picnic with my best friends.

I don't think it's too much to ask at all. The importance of being in the company of inspiring women can't be underestimated. I look at the same cookbook almost everyday : )

Just discovered your blog today and haven't been able to "put it down"! Thanks!

I love your tote with the leather handles and deep pockets! Can you divulge where you got it?
