we finally took a break from the backcountry and headed to the resort

2.20.2013

a couple weeks ago ceej and i took a day off to head up into the mountains for some skiing.
usually we head out to the backcountry, but this year we bought passes at a resort so
that i could improve my skills by going down multiple runs--over and over all day long.

my legs felt it. all that lunging (we telemark ski) left my legs wobbling.
worth it?
of course.

in the afternoon we met up with friends and skied much longer than we had planned.
always a good sign of good snow and good company.

and it all started at the waffle truck.

it is always worth it to push yourself a bit further and a bit harder all the time. I think the age old adage of "practice makes perfect" and I think about that every time I am trying to improve on something but get frustrated. As long as I take away the mocking voice that haunts me when I say it, I let it be true for a bit. xo

I loved your video. Although I have never been skiing before, I can only imagine that it would be a rush to beat all. The waffle truck... another rush I'd dearly like to experience. ♥
