cabin {part two} : more like october than spring

we've had so so so much rain lately...

i've really been enjoying it. everything is so green and cool.

this is my kind of spring.

snow came lightly at night and dusted the mountains,

making it feel and look like the first snow in october.

it has been so calming...i love this weather before the

scorching summer heat comes.

the coldest days are the sunniest days...

i went for another morning walk with my cameras.
these walks literally save me.
i'm so lucky to have such beautiful scenery in my backyard!

i've always found it strange that the coldest days
of the year are the days the sun is out
and there's not a cloud in the sky...
yet another reason to love cloudy days!
{lucky me, it's cloudy again today!}

i will be busy indoors all day today,
so i'm grateful that i was able to get out
and about so much the past couple of days.

{i'm very excited because i get to play the piano
for a group of women ages 65-95 today while
they share christmas memories. love it!}

i avoid the heat whenever possible...right now, it's not possible unless i shut myself in my apartment all day long. boo.

since it's so blasted hot here
i've taken things into my own hands.
all day i've been listening to music that reminds me of fall:
i even listened to robert frost read some of his poems about
fall & winter.
i've been "window" shopping through catalogs of
tweed, herringbone, wool, and argyle.
{please, please hurry fall!}

i've had a good time pretending today.
tomorrow i will have to face the heat at some point.
but let's not think about it.
