harvest feast | part three | backyard goodness {images by britt chudleigh}

1.18.2013

this is the late fall meal i am always dreaming of...and britt captured it beautifully.
and, honetsly, sarah winward's home is as magical as it looks.
they did a great job remodeling a post-war home, and bringing the yard to life.
as ceej and i look for our own place to settle i think i secretly hope to find something just
as good as this--that yard, with its foliage and beehives, makes any heart at peace.

i felt as if i had found eden--mostly because i was with gods and goddesses
who had a grace about them that is so admirable--
and maybe it was because sarah was about to have her first baby the very next day.
harvest. in every way.

thank you, dear women, for letting me join you in such a memorable supper.

Thank you for letting me be a lingering wraith at the gathering of lovely women.

Even with people, the place look serene. It's obvious that you guys had a good time! I love simple gatherings like this. :)

It is just so inspiring to see moments like this shared. Not only are the food ideas enough to make the tummy grumble but the styling and the atmosphere leaves me with a (REAL) sense of awe. It's the very simple and basic and raw things that we as humans truly embrace. Without a doubt.

"When was the last time you let fly a loud, truly heartfelt "WOW?"
NOt recently I bet. Because generally speaking wonder belongs to kids, with the rare exception of falling madly in love with another person, which invariably leads to a rebirth of wonder. As adults, we are not supposed to say or feel Wow, or wonder, or even true surprise because those things make us sound goofy, ingenuous, and childlike. How can you run the world if you are in constant awe of it?...
The human heart has a long memory though and remembers what it was like to live through days where it was constantly surprised and delighted by the world around it.”

Thank you ♥
