well. here i am. in oxford. this is my new street. campus on the left. very unadorned dorm room on the right.
cried a lot when i got here. realized i won't see ceej for six weeks and i'm a stranger here.
have made multiple trips to the cafe to use their wi-fi, which means i'm consuming a lot of peppermint tea just to be "near" cj via glorious skype. blessed technology.
anyway, i'm totally jet-lagged, tired, and confused. which means i need a nap.
plan on going to bed straight after dinner.
by the way, this place is amazing. my neighborhood is amazing. just neeed some rest to really enjoy it.
have no idea what posting will be like...bear with me as i figure out my school/study/travel schedule.

Welcome for Oxford! And have no fear: with a little sleep and peppermint tea you'll be on your feet in no time. Relish every moment you have there and don't let the separation hold you back, as hard as that is. Can't wait for future posts, lady! xo
Congrats on making it here safely! While it may seem daunting now, a week in and you'll feel so at home -- that's how I felt once I got used to London after moving abroad, anyway, and I imagine in Oxford it'll be even easier :)
Glad to see that you made it safely! I'm sure you'll really come to enjoy your new neighborhood, as it looks like a lovely place to be! Good luck with getting everything in hand! BTW...I love peppermint tea!
I'm so jealous. I've had a secret longing to study in Oxford for years and years. I hope it's everything you hope for, and that it's wonderful!
So glad you got there safely. Oh man, I am just so glad you are telling us all about it. I am way nervous also and I'm sure there will be many tears from me once I get there. Cannot wait to hear more!
i just looked up the health benefits of peppermint tea (too much time on my hands). supposedly it alleviates stress. so drink up and enjoy oxford!

I know what it's like to be a stranger in a strange place but you have your wonderful self, and time to explore. Best of luck to you!

mmm peppermint tea! thanks for taking us along with your travels- your writing and photos are so inspiring!
Congrats! Oxford is the most magical place I have ever been to! And the trees: I spent all of my time reading beneath the trees, especially on the Christ Church grounds. And the Radcliffe Camera, but of course!! Enjoy - it is so worth it!
