i usually try to avoid winter camping...
or sleeping in a tent when the temperatures are freezing or below freezing.
i hate thinking about waking in the middle of the night
to have to go out into the freezing cold.
so...
was happy indeed that we reserved ourselves a heated tent cabin
in curry village, with half dome watching over us.
it made the trip so very lovely indeed.
i was in heaven every night after hiking and climbing all day in the cold
{i do love the cold during the day for sure...i just don't like it at night when camping}
...it was nice to hang out in our tent reading, writing, and talking until we
easily fell into sleep.
next time we return to yosemite in the cold weather we will be
reserving one of these again...so worth it.

It looks so cozy in the tent. I've never been camping before and this is kind of making me want to go :)
This is my kinda camping!
Oh man I would love to camp in a place like this!!
Wonderful tent - wish I'd had it last weekend: I am definitely too old and it is certainly too cold to be camping without heating now!
this looks magical!!! do you have the information for where one can rent something like this?
Camilla Leila,
You rent these in the Yosemite Valley...in the area known as "Curry Village." You can find the information for them if you click on this link http://www.yosemitepark.com/Accommodations_CurryVillage.aspx
hope that helps!
i've never seen such a thing!
so neat!

Looks like so much fun! xo
oh my... my visit to Yosemite was full only of day walks with long return drives back to the hotel at night. This looks like the absolute best of both worlds. Roughing it with some comfort :)
