easy lunch

4.27.2010

i'm having one of those
i-will-eat-anything-even dry bread with honey-just-to-avoid-cooking weeks.
do you ever feel that way?

usually when i get in one of these cooking ruts,
i try to have some bolani on hand.
i buy this delicious afghan traditional food at
my farmers' market.
they've got a yummy spinach filling and
we spread jalapeno jelly and lentil curry on top.
mmmmmm.

and we pair it with some tea.
it's the perfect little meal.

what do you eat when you're in a cooking rut?

I'm always in a cooking rut! :) My favorite "rut" food is crackers with Italian salami and brie with red wine ... heavenly.

unfortunately i have a cafeteria i can eat at, which means i go and eat too much food that isn't good for me. :( or i each cheese and crackers, throw in some baby carrots and call it good.

Beautiful photos! That food sounds delicious. I always eat noodles. Trader Joe has the best.

Dear, I am always in a cooking rut. So my diet usually consists of a lot of chocolate and canned soup.

Always,

just minutes ago I relied on the whole wheat amaranth and cardamom biscuit dough that I was saving in my freezer for a rainy day. slathered it with some strawberry butter. yum.

miso soup with shredded nori leaves and buckwheat noodles...fast, good and cheap! I hate being in a cooking rut because I cook at work and am constantly trying to come up with healthy, vegetarian/vegan soups...thank goodness for the net!
