have a restful weekend...

3.12.2010

i met with a friend this morning about a project we're working on...
i wasn't excited about the meeting beforehand.
but was relieved to find out we are on the same page:
burned out!
i'm just oh so busy working on so many things...mostly for other people.
somehow i started saying "yes" to everything.
that seems to be what people tell you to do:
say yes to it all because you don't want to miss out.
well, i'm going to start saying "no" to it all.
i need to work on some neglected projects of my own
{writing!}
and i have been anxious to get my container garden going
and need to finally learn how to really make bread
like they make it in europe.
as my life goes on, i am hoping to go slower and slower
and to rest and enjoy a garden, homemade bread, writing,
and the company of those closest to me.

my weekend is a bit busy...busier than i prefer.
so i hope to rest whenever possible.

how does your weekend look?
may i suggest you say "no" to something
and stay home and just read a good book
while the weather does its thing?
try it.
and then tell me how it went.

thanks for your sound piece of advice. this weekend will be a busy one, full of things i put myself up to, really, so i can't complain. but, seeing it rain so hard today, i feel like canceling all my appointments to stay in and as you say: read.

you take such pretty photos and i love the way you write.

Oh...I am on my "yes" high from seeing that movie "Yes Man" lol. Luckily I have a pretty mellow weekend ahead... Sleeping in is all I really want to do!

I am so overbooked this weekend my stomach hurts. Urgh! But, my weekends are always more busy than my weekdays. It comes with being a dancer. Nights and weekends are off the hook.

Beautiful.

I think I will say no to a few things this weekend -- though not for fun, but because I must study for a midterm. Boo. But saying no a few times and making myself study for that will calm me.

OMG...first I have to comment on that second photo ~ Absolutely, breathtaking!

Secondly, I believe I'm several years older than you, so I have learned to slow down and enjoy the weekends. I, too, used to run around and wonder where those two days of rest went!

I say yes to everything - before i ven think - i need to start saying no and not feeling bad. because as you say you end up so busy do things for others you have no time to yourslef.
Inspiring post, thankyou!

I'm afraid I said no to being busy: even finding time for a small nap this afternoon (possibly the most indulgent thing?). It'll come back to bite me next week!

Fantastic advice that I have been given on many occasions and wish that, especially in the last couple of weeks, I would have heeded! Alas, I have overdone it and now have a cold. My body is saying "stop!"

Anyway, thank you for the reminder and sharing these lovely photos!
