Lately I've been taking quite seriously The Power of One...I think we so often doubt ourselves and the power we have to make things better. All of the people I listed above drastically changed the world we live in for the better. All of them had their vices as well. Isn't this proof enough that we don't have to be the smartest, richest, most popular person to make change? All we have to do is stay at it. I talk to so many people who feel they can't make a difference so they do nothing. This is funny logic to me. Of course nothing will get done if we all sit around doubting ourselves. So I am challenging all of you to take action for all of your causes and beliefs. Do you have any idea how much good you can bring to this earth? I do. So do it.

So crazy that you did this post today. I just finished Three Cups of Tea and Greg Mortensen is my new hero, and I think he should be on this list too! Have you read this book? I've been trying to do a post about it all day, but I'm just too speechless. That a simple mountain man should care enough about Muslim girls to build schools with his own hands in a dangerous war zone, is just too much! I think of him and have to fight back tears. I've never heard of such a modern day hero. Books instead of bombs...best thing I've read in a long time. Now that's HOPE!
And YES, it's soooo true what you say. As Mortensen paraphrased the words of Mother Teresa (his personal hero from childhood), "What we are trying to do may be just a drop in the ocean, but the ocean would be less because of that missing drop."
