Summer Vacations & Kodachrome

7.30.2008

Ol' Faithful

Indian & Celia Jane in Orderville, Utah

Oregon Coast

My guess is this photo is on the drive to Oregon. Mom, correct me if I'm wrong.

Paul Simon was oh so right..."Kodachrome, they give us those nice bright colors, they give us the greens of summers, makes you think all the world's a sunny day, oh yeah!"

These photos were taken by my Grandpa, Newel, as he took the family on summer road trips to Southern Utah and the Oregon Coast. They just don't make film the way they used to!

I'll be leaving tomorrow for my own summer vacation. This one is going to be a good one because my entire family will be in Utah and we'll be playing at the family cabin in the beautiful Uintas! I'll be posting often, forgive me is I miss a day here or there.

Any of you going on a summer vacation soon?

Those photos ARE gorgeous! Makes me so excited for more road trips!

I'm going to stay in a cabin right outside Yellowstone and canoe up the Snake River, in a couple of weeks! Maybe I'll take my film camera!

Have so much fun at your cabin!

Thanks for the info about Nader! I have two things planned for the same night already! I'm trying to figure out how I could swing it! I would love to go.

The water picture is in Canada, on the St. James Lake. Look on Daniel's family pictures. You'll see it there with the correct name of the water. I'm not sure if the other one is of Oregon or on our way to Canada to visit Aunt Arlene and Uncle Earl. I'll do some detective work. But you can't beat the colors, for sure. Too bad they were not good for the environment.
