Death and Rebirth

1.03.2008

This is a photo of the flame nebula, near orion. A nebula is the first stage of a star's cycle...when the material of a nebula collapses under its own weight, massive stars form at the center. The nebula dies in order to give life to new stars. (At least, that's how I understand it).
Today I am feeling some intense emotions coming from knowing that the death of this part of my life is about to come to an end. But I am trying to find joy in knowing that it is simultaneously the birth of many new and wonderful things that I am not yet aware of.
Isn't it strange, but perfect, that we truly must know sadness to know joy?

Too bad you missed my workshop last August- it was about a star's life and equlibreum. It was a good one- maybe I will have to do it again. It would make you feel happy!!!

To suffer gracefully, to die with dignity, to rise again and glow in my new skin - these things I hope I teach myself & your exploration and your sharing of your journey is a blessing I hold in high regard in 2008. (In my Sept. archive, "Think, Sex, Feel" explores these themes; although my expression is more agressively sexual, we let our minds be seduced by the same things.)PS - my mom read my comment ("have you seen a more beautiful picture than that of Anne Marie...") and she says you are lovely and I am correct in my opinion of your talents & beauty & wisdom.
