spring is making a great effort here today...62 degrees will be our high.
but we had a marvelous snow storm a couple of days ago
and our mountains are still packed with lovely snow
as the snow on my roof continues to drip down quickly in torrents.
am looking forward to our dawn patrol tomorrow morning
so i can soak up every bit of winter and the beautiful snow
before it is gone.
if you ever come on a dawn patrol, or any skiing adventure, with us
let me alert you to the fact that ceej will bombard you with his sage advice:
"cotton kills," "eat and drink whenever you can...that's the key,"
"place your poles in front of your feet as you skin up," "stay low and you'll flow,"
"pinch the pencil," "belly-button downhill."
it's good advice. trust me.

I love the adventures that you guys have. I find it extremely inspiring. I hope to have some good adventures this summer with my husband.
Omg, how could you be loving all this snow, I wish it would just melt already. Saskatchewan winters are just terrible!
i would love to join you on a dawn patrol! Are you doing langlauf - i would need to learn it from my norwegian friends!xx
ceej and i telemark (our heels are never locked into the binding and turning on the downhill involves lots of lunging). you can also get Alpine Touring (AT) gear that would allow you free your heel as you hike up the mountain, and then lock it in to ski down...if you're used to alpine skiing.
so fun!
even though i've been secretly gloating about living in southern california this winter, your pics make me really miss winter. it's great that you go out and enjoy the outdoors and the snow. i don't understand people who live in wintry places, but don't ever go outside and enjoy.
dawn patrol sounds so romantic... like you are just waiting and standing guard for the new day to begin
I'm in love with that second picture, it's amazing :)
Stellar photo's, especially the second! Love it!
Good to hear of someone who loves and enjoys the winter snows.
that second photo is stunning.
that being said, i am still eagerly awaiting for our snow to melt. i guess i'm just a summer bird...
fantastic images ...
makes me want to strap on my skis
and head out across the field ...
but right now we are having rain on the prairies ...
to be followed by a blizzard, of course ... ; )
so, maybe tomorrow ... : )
thanks for reminding me how much i love winter ...
and that constant reminder from my husband of how 'cotton kills' ... (made me giggle!)
cheers!

It's almost spring in my kingdom but your mountains and their snow look beautiful. Lisa:)
I´ve been longing for spring lately. These photos make me want to travel back in time right into december. Especially the first two.
