"of course there must be lots of Magic in the world," he said wisely one day,
"but people don't know what it is or how to make it."
-the secret garden
we went on many fall walks over the weekend. walking with a camera is best for me...it helps me to slow down and notice everything. i've been thinking how a slow pace reveals the magic of the earth...how amazing it is that leaves change color every year...that they blow away and become part of something else...how birds fly from branch to branch...how my breath continues to work in and out. i like philosophers who link happiness to simplicity and a patient pace. this is when the magic happens...when i'm paying close attention to everything else, rather than fretting over a check-list. all is coming. this i believe.

Oh my goodness, The Secret Garden was my favorite thing in the world as a kid. I read that book a zillion times over!
philosophers who link happiness to simplicity .... {sigh}
that says it all......
mmm...good images for a monday evening
What a lovely quote and photograph. So glad to visit here.
I absolutely love walking with my camera for the same reason you do ... it slows me down and I can take in so many things. Hope all is well! xo
I think this is my favorite manifesto monday so far. It's just beautiful <3
beautiful ann marie in every way.
this post was really delightful to read, so beautiful how these simplest things really make you think x
"All is coming" reminds me of Julian of Norwich - "All shall be well and all shall be well and all manner of things shall be well".
Taking comfort in knowing that all will arrive.
Ooh I love the secret garden!
My sister and I use to read the secret garden out loud to each other-magical. As is simplicity-which I am valuing more and more in my life.
You have such a beautiful blog, I love your photographs.
I think my heart rate has dropped significantly, just by being here.
And I know what you mean... as soon as I walk with my camera, time seems to slow down, and the world becomes so vibrant and full of life, in a quiet sort of way.
