on spring : fresh flowers, antique books, poetry, and women who sing

3.18.2010

experiencing 70+ degrees here and blue, blue skies.
this truly is wonderful weather.
the birds wake me with their little songs,
i open up my windows all day long
{unless one of those ubiquitous leaf-blowers comes along...no one here has heard of a rake}.
i listen constantly to jolie, patty, nanci, and gillian.
{excited beyond words for patty's show on the 30th!!!!!!}.
i take my worn books of classics and poetry and eat lunch by the river.
my house is full of fresh flowers,
and i'm making lots of skirts.

it must be spring.

Beautiful! I also love being by the river. The world here in Sac has dramatically changed in the last week and I'm loving it also. Everything/everyone is so much happier!

leaf blowers are the bane of my existence. i hope none came to spoil your lovely day. i've been feeling an urge to make piles of flowy skirts, but first i have to get through my best friend's crazy wedding weekend :) love spring.

ah this is SUCH a gorgeous post because you've transported us right to your side, surrounded by ranunculus and tulips, listening to jolie (singing in JOSHUA TREE in that video, what-what!), and oh, to read poetry on the riverbank.

and i can't believe you're seeing miss griffin play. can i come? seriously. you lucky swan. she's just about my flavorite. ever. xoxo.

Oh those flowers are just scrumptious! And I can't wait until it is warm enough to read poetry (or something) by a river...soon!

IS there anything nicer than picnicking by the river? I'm envying you your 70+ temperatures, we're barely scraping above freezing in England!
Leaf blowers are the curse of all right-minded people.
