we went down early
{because we read the invite a little wrong!}
so it was nice to hang out with our 2 hosts
who are the cutest couple you've ever met.
this ranch teaches teenage girls and boys
the rewards of manual work through community service...
dreaming of working here one of these summers.
but until then, am grateful to spend some winter
days there with friends.
the four of us cruisin' dirt roads packed with snow
as we put up hand-written signs to direct the rest
of the guests.
this night was a blue moon night.
how perfect is that?
more to come of our new year's eve festivities...
{just wanted to mention quickly that today i
figured out how to knit and pearl
AND i signed up for a ballet class that
starts tomorrow!}

hurrah for misread invitations and hurrah for snow-packed roads and four wheel drive pickups and hurrah for wonderful friends who live on a ranch and teach kids how to grow up to be good adults and hurrah for learning how to purl.
