does anyone know of any photographers in the sacramento {or even Bay Area} that could use an assistant/intern. i think it's time i branch out and learn as much as possible.
so any help/info you could supply would be seriously appreciated!
I agree. Photographers can be extremely egotistical, and instead of teaching (they see it as giving you skills that will just lead to you being in direct competition with them) i'm afraid you're free time will be taken advantage of, and you'll end up doing things very unrelated to photography.
Plus, every working photographer is pretty much digital these days. You probably already know far more about the photographic process than most just by shooting film.
Instead, you should look into joining a weekend workshop. I don't know what's available in Sacramento, but I've attended a few in Southern Utah and Nevada, and it's awesome. Not only do you learn from the workshop teacher, but also from the other attendees. And you get to meet others just as enthusiastic about the art as you are.

I say just launch right into it. I would hire you to take pictures of Jer and I.
