this is why we were desperate to move back to our mountains.
we can escape into the woods before work, in the afternoon,
and all weekend long--while still doing all the necessaries of life.
it really is a unique lifestyle being so close to the backcountry.
i love our backcountry ski dates.
i love feeling my lungs and legs burn.
i love skiing through fresh-fallen snow.
i love seeing the sun peek through aspen branches.
i love watching ceej carve beautiful turns through meadows of snow.
i love stopping to take photos of this beautiful place.
mountains, i hope we never leave you.
jojojj, and i'm going crazy with few snowflakes
ReplyDeleteso heavenly. Winter is my favorite time to be in the woods, for sure. I also love the quotes you shared, especially the one by byron, I feel that to be a truth for me...

Yes yes yes! I'm really happy for you
ReplyDeleteI want to try living that kind of lifestyle. :) Your words are captivating.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me miss the snow! When I was tiny we lived in Alaska then after moving to Southern California we skied every year. I think the best thing about skiing was seeing the beautiful views from the chair lifts!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful photos! Happy you are enjoying the beauty of your mountains!
Oh this is beautiful. Your love for your mountains and back woods is similar to my love for the pacific northwest, it's grey and rainy days, and it's raw beauty!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I have never been skiing before, but you have somehow inspired me... also, new to your blog and I can't wait to check out your travels! Planning a trip to Paris with the husband in June and I have no idea where to stay!
ReplyDeleteLovely blog!
