chamonix
5.30.2012
we arrived in chamonix two days ago. yes, we.
ceej met me in rome last friday, and i couldn't have been more giddy to see him after two weeks apart.
i loved walking the side streets of rome with him, and walking by st. peter's every night on our way home. we ate gelato, pizza, and pasta to our hearts' content.
it was good to spend so much time with marte and britt. what lovely women.
though we enjoyed our time in rome, ceej and i are quite pleased to be up in the mountains--in the alps!
it really is incredible here. so grateful i get to tag along with ceej as he travels for business.
the fresh mountain air and the slower pace are both right up my alley. i'm definitely a mountain girl.
we're already planning a return trip here that will involve more gear and a little training so
we can climb up these beautiful mountains and ski down them. ahhhh! how fun would that be?!
on friday we leave for paris for the weekend. i'm looking forward to walking along the siene,
and enjoying the city at a slow and casual pace. should be a lovely way to end my trip.
hope you are all enjoying spring as it approaches summer.
can't wait to show you all the photos from our trip.
a quick hello to the city : milano, italia

turns out blogger is a bit stubborn here in italy: photos do not want to upload, and we'll
see how the text all works out, but...
oh my, how i am so glad to be in italy with britt & marie. we're having the time of our lives
wandering slowly through italian streets taking photos of just about everything,
and talking about, well, just about everything.
we're currently in rome enjoying the sunshine, the architecture, and the gelato.
happy weekend!
our bellies are happy

i cannot tell you enough of how much i am enjoying spending so much time with marte & britt.
we wander around the forest, the island, and the city taking photographs as we plan
big plans, and encourage each other to be brave and face the dreams that scare us to death.
we have been so well nourished. body and soul. marte and her beautiful mother know
how to keep a belly happy and a heart full. their homes are havens of profound simplicity.
i think marte and yvonne must open up a bed & breakfast together. dreamy indeed.
this has felt like such a home. it will be hard to leave, but i think we will find solace in our
journey to rome tomorrow. there's so much to show you. but, first, i must digest it all.

we're finally in norway together. this place is beautiful, and full of lovely sites.
it's been incredibly good for my heart to be able to spend so much time with
marte and britt--two very creative, passionate, insightful, and kind women.
how lucky i am to know these two.
our days have been filled with walking, photographing, talking, and eating.
i think i have found my traveling kindred spirits. love these strong women so much.
will try to stop by with more photos now and then.
if you'd like you can stop by our instagram collections here, here, and here.
outside time
5.05.2012
time is always on my mind lately: how much time to i have to write? how much time do i have to pack boxes before we move? how much time do i have to prepare for a piano recital? how much time do i have to answer emails? when will i have time to study for school this summer? when will i have time to study for tests? when will i have time to write more? when will i have time to sit and watch the sky move?
time. time. time.
i find myself yearning to sing a soulful note--one that has always existed inside of me, outside of time. outside of time. doesn't that sound blissful?
i'm listening to violins again, and listening to every note--especially the ones that resonate inside of me, the ones that have existed always.
may day...which is yes
5.01.2012
i've been so busy, and so caught up in planning my trip to europe,
writing articles, finishing finals for school, and moving
that i sort of forgot how close my very own mountains are to me...
so this morning i took a quick detour up the canyon to visit
the trees, the river, and to take deep breaths. what a detour.
seriously can't believe my luck that we live in such a brilliant landscape.
i've decided that we must take advantage, and we'll be headed up
to the mountains for picnic lunches as much as we can.
i'm giddy about getting outside to the mountains. they're so close!
happy may day!
